All Saints Church Castle Camps

Thanksgiving Service 26th September

Well, wasn’t the weather kind to us and helped our Thanksgiving service of Celebration become a real success. It was so good to see so many people milling around the church and churchyard enjoying an afternoon of gentle conversation, eating and drinking, enjoying the stalls and musical entertainments. The children especially enjoyed the games.

There are many to thank, Michael and his team for the hog roast, the stall holders, the Wimbish Military Wives choir, our organists, Rough Acre Brewery and all who worked so hard to make this a great afternoon. You all know who you are.

During the afternoon we also presented our lovely postman Steve with his retirement gift, and for those who contributed but I have not spoken to, we raised enough to get him tickets to the Oval, golf membership, a bottle of superior champagne, chocolates and also a scrap book containing all of our ‘Farewell Notes’ (thanks here to Ali Norden). This was presented by Sue Herbert (thank you Sue).
All in all, an afternoon to remember!

Planned up and coming events for the New Year

Breakfasts with speakers

We are restarting our breakfasts with speakers; we are planning to hold this in the church and not at Lily Cottage as we will be able to include more people. These events are a breakfast of bacon and sausage in a roll with coffee and an interesting speaker. More details of dates to follow.

Flower Festival 3rd to 5th June 2022 to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee

We are just restarting the planning of our cancelled Flower Festival; I will be contacting all my fellow flower arrangers in due course but please make a note in your diaries of the dates of 3rd to 5th June 2022.
